Meet the co-founders

The women setting the table.

A few small questions for the people shaping the rooms, rituals and soft landings behind Bayt Kita.

What’s a small ritual that makes an ordinary day feel sacred?

⭑ waking up and letting amy winehouse or sade fill the room while i journal & mood board with an iced matcha in hand. that quiet stretch of morning before the day asks anything of me.

Dream travel destination

⭑ oman will definitely be seeing me one day (inshallah!) the landscapes, the women’s only spaces, the architecture, all of it looks breathtaking. what moves me most is the intention behind preserving their cultural architecture (fun fact: oman is the only gulf country that deliberately avoids building skyscrapers!)

Who is your fashion / art muse?

⭑ it shifts with my mood, but it usually lands somewhere between tracee ellis ross, shahd batal and robin williams haha! ellis ross is endlessly inventive, her pieces are oversized yet impeccably structured and playful. batal taught me to bring intention back into my wardrobe, natural fibres, simple yet chic. and williams reminds me to have fun with how i dress, always in a fit that was unfussy yet effortlessly cool. what ties them together and what i try to carry with me, is that their style is so deeply intentional and rooted in their own sensibility rather than chasing a single trend.

What is your favourite thing in your bag right now?

⭑ ahhh it’s so hard to pick just one! but right now it’s my stainless steel tumbler from Studio Frond! perfect for the days i’m on the go, keeps my drink cold or hot for hours. and since i’m not a fan of paper straws, the matching stainless steel one is always tucked in there with her.

Signature drink order

⭑ earl grey tea in literally any form! an earl grey matcha, a london fog, a tokyo fog, or just a classic cup! i’ll happily sip it all hehe <3

What’s a small ritual that makes an ordinary day feel sacred?

It has to be waking up early in the morning and having a long black in my favourite ceramic mug.

Dream travel destination

Vietnam for sure! The food, the clothes, the landscape. The country has so much to offer and I just know I’ll need to visit more than once.

Who is your fashion / art muse?

@mariaalia - her style is fun, playful and so chic!! I love the mix of textures and colours she uses. It inspires me to pull items from my closet I wouldn’t have otherwise paired together.

What is your favourite thing in your bag right now?

Ooo I think I’m obsessed with my Ray Bans at the moment. I got them in a 2000s style frame. They’re so lightweight with a tinge of blue on the lens - perfect for all year round.

Signature drink order

A hot vienna from Brown Spoon

What’s a small ritual that makes an ordinary day feel sacred?

My daily coffee runs! When I’m rushing through the day, the slowness of going for a walk with my friend, grabbing a drink and just yapping is honestly non-negotiable.

Dream travel destination

Korea has been on my bucket list forever! I’m obsessed with K-dramas and all the cute cafés. I even have a few coffee table books about Korean café culture, and I keep hearing that Korea is for the girlies, so naturally I have to go.

Who is your fashion / art muse?

I wouldn’t necessarily say I have one singular muse. I’m really inspired by the people around me and certain lifestyle creators like oumsgh and aminasnotokay, who I feel really align with my personality, outfits and overall aesthetic.

What is your favourite thing in your bag right now?

I’m always the person with her whole life in her bag! But right now, my favourite thing has been the Anua hydrating mist. She’s so chic and compact, and I love spritzing it on my face whenever I need a little refresh.

Signature drink order

If I’m feeling like coffee, it’s definitely a decaf mocha einspanner with almond milk. But if it’s a matcha kind of day, I loooove a banana-flavoured matcha!

The room is shaped by what we care about.
