The practical things
Terms of use
These Terms of Use apply to the Bayt Kita website, content, event pages, newsletter forms and related online experiences. Bayt Kita is based in Perth, Western Australia. By using this website, you agree to use it lawfully, respectfully and in line with these terms.
General information only
Website content is provided for general information and community engagement. We try to keep information accurate and up to date, but event details, availability, dates, locations, facilitators, prices and inclusions may change.
Community conduct
Bayt Kita is built around care, respect and belonging. You agree not to use the website, forms, events or community spaces to harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against, impersonate or harm others, or to submit false, misleading, unlawful or harmful material.
Events, bookings and registration
Event pages may link to external registration, ticketing or payment providers. Your booking may also be subject to the terms of those providers. Please review event-specific details carefully before registering.
Event-specific refund, cancellation, transfer and waitlist terms should be displayed at the time of registration. If Bayt Kita needs to cancel or materially change an event, we will take reasonable steps to notify registered attendees using the contact details provided.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded.
Health, safety and accessibility
You are responsible for considering whether an event is suitable for you. Please tell us about accessibility, dietary or safety needs when prompted so we can consider reasonable adjustments. We may refuse or remove attendance where needed to protect guests, hosts, venues or the community experience.
Photography and media
Some events may include photography, video or social content. We will try to make this clear at the event or during registration. If you do not want to be photographed or filmed, please tell us or the event host as early as possible.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise credited, Bayt Kita owns or licenses the website design, copy, graphics, photographs, event descriptions and original content. You may view and share links to our pages for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you must not copy, reproduce, adapt or commercially exploit our content without permission.
User submissions
If you send us a message, enquiry, testimonial, reflection, image or other content, you confirm that you have the right to share it with us. We will ask before using personal stories, identifiable images or testimonials publicly, unless the content was already posted publicly by you in a way that clearly permits resharing.
Third-party links
Our website may link to third-party websites, platforms or services, including Instagram, newsletter tools, ticketing tools, maps and event partners. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, privacy practices or terms.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bayt Kita is not liable for loss, damage or inconvenience arising from your use of the website, reliance on website content, third-party platforms, event changes or matters outside our reasonable control. This does not limit rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under Australian law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes will be dealt with by courts with jurisdiction in Western Australia, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
